The flourishing of Pal Thunten Shedrub Ling Monastery is inseparable from the vision and compassion of its spiritual heart, Chokyi Nima Rinpoche. Rinpoche has devoted immense effort and resources to building the monastery, nurturing monastics, and establishing branch centers. He also strives to bring together different Buddhist lineages in harmony. The photo below shows the monks engaging in debate, a dynamic expression of study and practice within the monastery.

This event took place on the day commemorating the Buddha’s descent from the Tāvatiṃsa Heaven. Before the recitation of the Tripiṭaka, the monks carried the sacred scriptures in a circumambulation around the Maya Devi Temple — a gesture of profound symbolic significance.
