The Shah Alam Buddhist Society invited me to give a talk to the parents of their Sunday Dharma class.
Their Sunday program is thriving, with students ranging from primary to secondary school, numbering in the hundreds to nearly a thousand. When the children attend class, where do their parents go? They come here to spend time with the teacher.
Originally, today’s topic was “Buddha Recitation, Repentance, and Karma.” However, as most of the parents are middle-aged and raising children, I made a last-minute adjustment—shifting from “karma” to the “influence” of social media instead. The atmosphere was lively, with strong engagement and interaction throughout, and ending with repentance.
To those who came—both in person and online—expecting the original topic, my apologies for the change!

The third class at Shah Alam Buddhist Society was conducted as scheduled today. The session focused on several core types of karma that are closely connected to our destiny — productive karma, obstructive karma, destructive karma, supportive karma, and weighty karma. These profound Buddhist teachings were also closely related to the realities of our daily lives.
The teachings on karma resonated deeply with the middle-aged and elderly participants present. For those who have gone through many stages of life and weathered countless challenges, the Dharma is no longer merely an abstract theory, but the most relatable and down-to-earth explanation of life itself. The hardships, blessings, and turning points they once experienced all seemed to find their answers during this lesson. Like a clear mirror, the Dharma illuminated the paths of their past while also bringing acceptance, relief, and blessings for facing the present and the future.
